  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. White Flour (All Purpose Unbleached Flour)

  1. Melt butter and mix in flour until smooth. Set roux aside for later use.
  2. In a 2–3 qt saucepan, sweat garlic with olive oil. Add water and bouillon and stir well.
  3. Add remaining ingredients except cream and peas and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add roux and back to a simmer. Add peas and cream and stir well.
  5. Bring mixture to a simmer for about 2 minutes and then pour into a 9x13 pan.
  6. Place the puff pastry on top of filling, spreading it to edges of pan. Brush pastry with egg wash.
  7. Bake at 375F for about 20 minutes or until pastry is puffy and brown.
