Hot Cocoa Sugar Cookies

  • 1 can Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix pantry can
  • 3/4 c. Butter
  • 2 tbsp. Water
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/3 c. White Flour (All Purpose Unbleached Flour)
  • 1 1/4 c. Hot Cocoa - Holiday Edition
  • 1 tbsp. Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 c. Boiling Water

Hot Cocoa Whipped Cream Frosting

  • 1 1/2 c. Hot Cocoa - Holiday Edition
  • 1/4 c. Boiling Water
  • 2 c. Heavy Cream

Hot Cocoa Buttercream Frosting

  • 1/4 c. Butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 c. Powdered Sugar
  • 3/4 c. Hot Cocoa - Holiday Edition
  • 1/4 c. Boiling Water

Sugar Cookie:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine egg, butter, and 2 tablespoons of water in mixer.
  3. Add pantry can of Thrive Life vanilla sugar cookie mix and flour to the liquid and mix until crumbly.
  4. Combine 1/4 cup water, cocoa powder, and hot cocoa mix in a bowl and stir well.
  5. Add the paste to the cookie dough mixture and mix until dough forms.
  6. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

Whipped cream frosting

  1. Combine hot cocoa and water in a mixing bowl until paste starts to form. Scrape bowl well to assure it is all mixed in.
  2. Add heavy cream and whip until stiff peaks.

Buttercream frosting

  1. Begin by mixing boiling water and hot cocoa mix, set aside.
  2. Whip the butter. Add cocoa mixture and whip again. Finally, add powdered sugar and whip until light.
